Having full root-level access signifies that you can access and customize any file on a particular server, which includes all system files, and to change system settings or install server-side software which may be required by specific scripts and even offline applications to work properly. A server is accessed at the root level with a root user, which has full privileges to perform any of the aforementioned things. The root user may also generate other users. For security reasons, you are advised to have another account for day-to-day tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to do a task on your website hosting server. The root-level access function gives you full control of your server from almost any location, as long as you have the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

Our VPS servers come with different levels of access, in order to give you the option to pick the one you need, depending on your level of experience and on what you will need the server for. If you buy a VPS without Control Panel, you will have full root-level access and you will manage everything from a console, unless you install a third-party software tool. The servers which are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel web hosting Control Panel also come with full root access, but most of the things which are linked to your online content can be performed using a graphical interface and not a console. You will be able to set up different frameworks or media streaming software, for instance, without a problem. When you order the virtual hosting server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, however, the root access will be limited. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the simplest to control.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server regardless of what plan you select during the signup process, as long as the server is ordered with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or without web hosting Control Panel at all. In all of these 3 cases, you are able to change any part of the software environment in any way you see fit, which makes our server plans suitable for multi-media apps with specific requirements which can't be covered when you use a shared hosting account. The main difference between these options is the fact that when you choose cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will have a web-based graphical interface to take care of various server-side options and any website content that you create or upload, while when you order the server without a Control Panel, you'll have to do everything with a Secure Shell console or to install a Control Panel of your own liking, if it is compatible with the Operating System that you have selected during the registration process. With the third Control Panel option which you're able to choose on our order page - Hepsia, the root access is restricted.
